“My job involves more than simply translating words into another language. It’s about conveying a message and achieving the desired effect in a different cultural and linguistic setting.”

Elisabeth Freund Ducatez

Would you like to access the German market or consolidate your market share with high quality content?

Are you looking for a German translator who will take your message on board and make sure every nuance is conveyed?

Then you’re in the right place!

Thanks to over 25 years of freelance experience and a reliable network of like-minded professionals, I am able to guarantee excellence in each and every translation into German, English and French. Each translated text is carefully drafted, accurately worded and thoroughly researched. With honesty, reliability and a listening ear, I invest wholeheartedly in my customer relationships and offer my clients consistent quality and professionalism.

Core values

My objective is clear: to be a reliable, valued partner to my clients at all times, who is always ready to go the extra mile! I am convinced that when you approach a project with passion and conviction it will ultimately lead to success.

Genuine interest

I can only achieve my goal of the highest language quality if I am prepared to give my best at all times. By getting to know my clients and their industries, I am able to understand their specific needs and the nuances of the message they wish to convey, so that it comes across flawlessly and convincingly in another language.

For large volumes or delicate projects, I can put together and manage a team of translators. This constructive cooperation with other qualified professionals is often a decisive factor: it enables us to get more done and to have more fun doing it. Quality controls using the four-eyes principle ensure that none of the subtleties of the source language are overlooked and that the message is faithfully transposed in the target language.

Good customer relationships, compliance with deadlines and flexibility are the golden rules of my job. My objective is to create real added value for my customers.

Top-quality translations require mastery of subject-specific terminology as well as the use of the right style and tone in the target language – after all, it’s not just what you say, it’s how you say it.

Technologies that lend a helping hand

Computers can help us translate faster and better, but at a certain linguistic level, machine translation quickly reaches its limits. I use an industry-leading CAT tool (SDL Trados Studio) that creates and maintains intelligent translation memories (TMs) based on my own work. By reusing my previous work and terminology databases, I ensure consistency, quality and speedy execution of my translations.

About the translator

I was born in Vienna, Austria.
At the early age of 6, I decided that one day I would live in France.
When I was 16, I dreamed of becoming a translator… and I never let go of this idea.
After a Bachelor’s Degree in translation from the Center for Translation Studies at the University of Vienna, I graduated from the ESIT (École supérieure d’interprètes et de traducteurs) in Paris in 1995 and have been working as a freelance translator in France since 1996.
Within a short time, I was able to build a loyal clientele thanks to my reliability, professionalism and sociability. A few years later, I returned to ESIT as a lecturer. I have also been teaching at the EDHEC and ESTICE business schools in Lille since 2015.

Today, after more than 25 years, my enthusiasm for my work hasn’t wavered. I am a passionate learner who is motivated by the thrill of finding just the right word, the joy of clearly expressing an idea and the satisfaction of a job well done. While the translation sector is currently being upended by the development of post-edited machine translations, I continue to offer translation services that are 100% human, guaranteeing premium quality as well as a flawless customer experience.

I offer translation services for any company, regardless of its size or sector, targeting the German, Austrian or Swiss market.

I translate all types of content, including print or online media, communication tools (websites, newsletters, info flyers, brochures, leaflets, catalogs, etc.), technical documents (user manuals, handbooks, guides, tutorials etc.) and institutional documents (activity reports, contracts, legal documents, etc.).

Caroline Bishop, Michelangelo Foundation

“I have known Elisabeth for several years now. We work together on various subjects that are sometimes complex in terms of technicality/subtlety of language and her precision, professionalism and expertise are always reflected in her work. With her, I know that the work delivered will be high quality, accompanied by pertinent remarks and always delivered on time. My clients’ feedback is always very positive and I know that I can trust her completely. Availability, reactivity, control of deadlines, quality of translation and a friendly personality – I highly recommend Elisabeth!”
